About the Secondary Markets Group

The principals of the SMG have been involved in some of the leading transactions in the secondary market and maintain relationships with all major market participants.  By marrying a deep domain expertise in the alternative asset class with ICAP’s world-class brokerage and marketing capabilities, the SMG is bringing a new paradigm to bear on the secondary market.

The group is led by Brad Critchell, supported by professionals in Jersey City, New Jersey and Frankfurt, Germany, who collectively have over a half-century of experience in the financial markets.  Brad was most recently a Director with Cogent Partners, a secondary private equity intermediary; previously he worked as an investment banker at Credit Suisse and its predecessor institutions, as well as Montgomery Securities.  Brad holds an A.B. (magna cum laude) from Brown University and a J.D. from Columbia, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and a member of the Business Law Review.
